Seva Mandir is an implementing agent for the government's Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ('MGNREGA') scheme which guarantees a number of days' employment to rural people

Almost half the pupils at the Residential Learning Camps run by Seva Mandir are girls, and many of the teachers are women - vital for the future of India
At a routine health check at the Residential Learning Camp, the girl in the middle was found to have a cataract. Seva Mandir arranged for her to have this removed free of charge, thus saving her sight - hence the sunglasses.
First day of a two-month Residential Learning Camp. No sign of homesickness here! Indeed, the atmosphere is of joy and one can feel the children seizing what might well be their one chance to get an education

Ragpickers, like this colony in Bedla, collect and sift through refuse. They often burn what they cannot recycle, including plastic, sending toxic smoke through houses and a school nearby.
